Manga review : Kamisama Hajimemashita

Long time no see, now I want to give you a MANGA REVIEW! It's a new topic for this blog. I know not all people familiar with "manga" so I'll describe "manga" a little for you.

Manga is the general Japanese term for comic. All the Japanese-made comic called as Manga, while the animation called as Anime. It has different style with western comic. Not only style, the story and theme of Manga usually more wider than western's, also the reader. While the reader of western comic usually are kids, Manga fans are vary from kids to adult. They even have to put age boundaries since they also produce smut (and porn) comics!

Enough with the introduction, now let's begin the review for this wonderful Manga

"KAMISAMA HAJIMEMASHITA" (Start Being A God).

The story start with a scene of Nanami, our main character, have a fighting with her useless (yes, USELESS) father about money. This very-useless father use all the money that Nanami save for gambling. The result can be predicted, he lost the money and run away (useless father, yes). Because of the gambling debts, Nanami being evicted from her apartment and become homeless. She meets Mikage (A Cupid-Love God?) and save him from a stray dog. As a thank you, he gives Nanami his house to stay then he go travelling. Of course Nanami is happy! But that's not long. When she arrives at Mikage's home, she is shocked to see that is is not a normal home but a small, run-down, and poor shrine for worship!!

After that she is greeted by both Onikiri and Kotetsu, the will-o-wisps who are the keepers of the shrine. She then meets Tomoe, the familiar of Mikage (a super strong and handsome fox youkai), and she learns that Mikage used to be the Earth Diety (Land-God) of the shrine and he has bestowed upon her his mark so that she may be the new Diety. At first she is reluctant but as she lives with Tomoe, Onikiri and Kotetsu she begins to understand and work hard in her new position as Earth Diety. As the story progresses Nanami finds herself falling in love with Tomoe, but he rejects her because the love between a human and a yokai is taboo. Despite saying that, Tomoe finds himself falling in love with her too.
But then....

Though it sounds so simple, the adventure is what make this manga is so interesting! The fact that Nanami is famous of her poorness make her doesn't want to go to school. She often get bullied by the boys and has no friend at all. One day she see a news that a super famous idol, Kurama, attend her high school and get into her class. Nanami feels so happy and decided to go to school to meet her idol. Tomoe doesn't like her decision since a powerless human-god is a delicious meal for monster and goblin. But the stubborn Nanami still go to school and get into trouble in the very first day. Tomoe who stalks her all day long can't stand it because if the Earth Deity was bullied, especially by human, it will hurt the shrine reputation along with all the residents (and Tomoe doesn't want his reputation as an high-grade fox going down even a bit!).

Finally, Tomoe steps into the school and steal everyone's heart because of his looks and his elegant manner. Later on, it's revealed that Kurama is a Tengu, a legendary creature of Japanese folk, a monstrous bird who can take a human form (usually has a red face, but of course in Manga, a Manga-ka is free to pour their own version of Tengu). And... Kurama is interested in Nanami! Next day, Tomoe decided to enroll in the school Nanami goes to and get into the same class as Nanami to protect her. How did he pay it?? Don't ask. He is a powerful fox youkai, so he can create illusion and hypnotist people without trace.

As time goes by, Nanami meets many other God and Goddess even help their romance-relationship (love between God/supernatural being with human is taboo, but somehow Nanami shows her skill here!). Even though she is not as powerful as other Gods, but her purification method is unbeatable. Her pure heart and strong will make Nanami keep walking, even in difficult path, when Tomoe is dying because of the cursed (oops! spoiler!). Thank to her other familiar, Mizuki, Nanami can go back to the past to find the cure for Tomoe (oopsiee.. another spoiler)

Her past-time journey is the most interesting chapter for me. It reveals everything. Who is Tomoe, how can he get that horrible cursed, his love story, and many things! I'm still curious about the next chapter because the key to lift the curse hasn't been found yet. I know the item but how can it switch to another person?? And.. and.. why Nanami's mom said that all female in their generations born georgously but always get married to undependable man. And.. in the past-time journey, Nanami meets a girl with the same face as her! Is it related?? Or just a rumour?? Will Nanami get the key in time since there's a time limit to go to the past and Tomoe only have 2 days left?? Argghh it's so killing me! I hope the new chapter is released soon!

• Youkai : Yōkai (妖怪?, ghost, phantom, strange apparition) are a class of supernatural monsters in Japanese folklore. The word yōkai is made up of the kanji for "mysterious" and "weird". Often they possess animal features (such as Kurame, The Tengu which has wings while Tomoe, The Fox has fox's ear and tail), other times they can appear mostly human, some look like inanimate objects and others have no discernible shape. Yōkai usually have a spiritual supernatural power, with shape shifting being one of the most common.
• God : In this manga, God is refer to polytheism of Shinto. God and Goddess in Shinto based on nature so they often have an animal, plant, or human shape with their own task. Confuse? Worry not, you'll understand more about Shinto-God by ready this manga! Isn't it wonderful? Fun learning~!
• -Ou : Sometimes you'll see name with -Ou (example, Akura-Ou). -Ou has similar meaning as The Great. So.. Akura-Ou means Akura The Great, who has the great evil power belong youkai

First keep in mind, Boyfriend is an Entertainment Package, while Husband is an Operating System. Please enter the command: 'http: I Thought You Loved Me.html' and try to download Tears. Don't forget to install the Guilt update. If that application works as designed, Husband should then automatically run the applications Jewellery and Flowers, but remember - over use of the above application can cause Husband to default to Grumpy Silence, Garden Shed or Beer. Beer is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.
Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources). Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband..
In summary, Husband is a great system, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. It also tends to work better running one task at a time. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Food and Hot Lingerie ... Good Luck,

So, how is it? Doesn't it sound familiar? Sometimes, we, girls (yeah, I'm a girl) fall in love with this Entertaining Packages so bad because they really able to entertain us. Few days or weeks or months later we decided to make the Packages our Long-Lasting and Eternal Private Property but we forget that those Packages are humans, not stuffs. They both built by both Bad and Good materials which make them unique in each. We often forget about it, don't we? We want them exactly same like what we want. We want them to "operate" perfectly according to our standard(s). When they fail to satisfy us, we want to reset them over and over again until they match our "perfect-lists".

Maybe.. we better upgrade and fix our Operation System first so we can match with them. It will be easier to change ourselves than others because we know which methods suit us and which not. Why? Because everyone built in their own unique system, our method may not works 100% perfectly on them. If, we can upgrade ourselves and match their system, it will be easier to communicate and understand each other, and they will appreciate and love us more,don't you think?

Hi, everyone ! How are you? Last week I promised that I'll write the story behind The Princess and The Frog sketch I made. So, here I am, lay down on my bed, facing my laptop and start typing...

Princess : Hi, Mr. Frog !
Mr. Frog : Hi ! Err.. Why do you call me "Mr. Frog"?
Princess : You have big eyes, you're a frog :D
Mr. Frog : Yours are bigger than mine !
Princess : (laugh)
Mr. Frog : Ummm.. So what are you? A Princess??
Princess : Yaaay ! I'm a Princess ! Huh, wait, I don't want to kiss you.. (suddenly The Princess remembers about The Princess and The Frog's story)
Mr. Frog : (laugh out loud) Yeah yeah I know. You don't want to make me happy that much, rite?
Princess : (grin) Yap ! I don't want to make you happy that much !
(laugh together) Hahahaha... (deep silence..........)
Mr. Frog : Hmmmm.. Princess..?
Princess : Yes?
Mr. Frog : Will you give me a kiss? (staring at Princess)
Princess : Huh? (look into Mr. Frog's eyes) I didn't throw my ball to your pond. Why should I kiss you, Mr. Frog?
Mr. Frog : (laugh) You've thrown it. You just didn't notice it :P
Princess : (confuse,thinking) Ummmm... Even if I kiss you, I don't think you'll become a Prince....
Mr. Frog : (laugh again) I can't suddenly become a Human Prince, but at least I can become a human.. Hohoho

Mr. Frog : (laugh) How come you're not a strong girl?? You're such a big eater !

Mr. Frog : (laugh) Oh, come on, smile. Look, Mr. Rabbit is hiding in that hole because you suddenly hide your smile
Princess : (looking to the hole. Seeing a rabbit nose. Smile) OH look, I can see Mr. Rabbit's face (big smile) :D
Mr. Frog : I love your smile, my Princess. It's such a bright light for this Dark Woods.
Princess : (blushing)
Mr. Frog : You know what, my Princess, someday I'll become a human then I'll be a real Human Prince..!
Princess : Are you that desperately want to be a human? I come here everyday to play with you. Is that not enough for you?
Mr. Frog : Hmphhhhh..... There's someone I want to be with desperately. I can't be with her with this body...
Princess : Why?? She doesn't like you because you're a frog??
Mr. Frog : I don't know if she want to spend her rest of life with me if I'm just a froggie

Valentine is Forbidden? - updated with Indonesian translation !

The most interesting fact for me is "Valentine is Forbidden".

updated : for 21 years I live in Indonesia, I just knew this fact today ! OMG.. how can I'm not updated with these news?

I know this from some friends. A religion in Indonesia (or maybe some) see this day as Satan Day. Why?

1. People use this day to do free-sex

2. Identic with party and somehow, alcohol and drugs. Depend on how they celebrate Valentine

Strange. Yes, for me it's strange. What is the history of Valentine? Does Valentine does free-sex, drugs, and alcohol? No ! Does he teach people to do that?? NO !

Numerous early Christian martyrs were named Valentine.

The Early Medieval acta of either Saint Valentine were expounded briefly in Legenda Aurea. According to that version, St Valentine was persecuted as a Christian and interrogated by Roman Emperor Claudius II in person. Claudius was impressed by Valentine and had a discussion with him, attempting to get him to convert to Roman paganism in order to save his life. Valentine refused and tried to convert Claudius to Christianity instead. Because of this, he was executed. Before his execution, he is reported to have performed a miracle by healing the blind daughter of his jailer.

Legenda Aurea still providing no connections whatsoever with sentimental love, appropriate lore has been embroidered in modern times to portray Valentine as a priest who refused an unattested law attributed to Roman Emperor Claudius II, allegedly ordering that young men remain single. The Emperor supposedly did this to grow his army, believing that married men did not make for good soldiers. The priest Valentine, however, secretly performed marriage ceremonies for young men. When Claudius found out about this, he had Valentine arrested and thrown in jail. In an embellishment to The Golden Legend provided by American Greetings, Inc. to History.com and widely repeated, on the evening before Valentine was to be executed, he wrote the first "valentine" himself, addressed to a young girl variously identified as his beloved, as the jailer's daughter whom he had befriended and healed, or both. It was a note that read "From your Valentine."

 The Valentines honored on February 14 are Valentine of Rome (Valentinus presb. m. Romae) and Valentine of Terni (Valentinus ep. Interamnensis m. Romae). Valentine of Rome was a priest in Rome who was martyred about AD 269 and was buried on the Via Flaminia. His relics are at the Church of Saint Praxed in Rome, and at Whitefriar Street Carmelite Church in Dublin, Ireland.

Valentine of Terni became bishop of Interamna (modern Terni) about AD 197 and is said to have been martyred during the persecution under Emperor Aurelian. He is also buried on the Via Flaminia, but in a different location than Valentine of Rome. His relics are at the Basilica of Saint Valentine in Terni (Basilica di San Valentino).

No romantic elements are present in the original early medieval biographies of either of these martyrs. By the time a Saint V:alentine became linked to romance in the fourteenth century, distinctions between Valentin'e of Rome and Valentine of Terni were utterly lost.

For me, there's nothing wrong with those St. Valentine(s)... From reading the history, I begin to realize that actually Valentine day is a day to remember that "Love need sacrifice and must be respected as it's not easy to get". Not Satan Day/ Free-Sex Day.

That's why, I'm soooo confuse... If that's the bad-people who do the sins, then why they have to blame St. Valentine(s) and forbid Valentine? Do they not respect the death of St. Valentine and efforts he had done? OR do they want to remain single like those Roman's army men? This fact, is really interesting....

Actually, there's 2 versions of History of Valentine. The first one is what I get from wikipedia, Valentine as a martyr and Saint. The second one is Valentine(s) as a raper, playboy, sinner, and lecherous people. Which one is right? For now, I just can say, it's up to you. If you see Valentine(s) as a Saint, learn from them and become good person. If you see Valentine (s) as a Lecherous, don't do what they do. Simple.

I can't put the second version of Valentine (sinner) because it will show which religion(s) I mentioned.. I'm afraid it will nudge some people/groups

So, what should we do? Forbid it or receive it? It's up to you.. For you who believe that Valentine is "Love" day, show your love to your parents, family, friend, spouse, etc in normal and ethical way. For you who believe Valentine is "Satan Day", don't do free sex, alcohol, drugs forever in your life as that's the reason why you see Valentine is Satan Day...

Black Cat Lady : 1

This is a not-good story from me :) Hope you understand this story

Black Cat Lady

Sun shows its smile on that entire city. Somehow it smiles too bright that no rain pours for months.

12.00 a.m.

People out for lunch. With traffic full of people and cars, a little touch can make big tension among others. Hunger figures crawl on the road, trying to find their own ways to find a nice cafe or bar to fill their belly.
Far from that crowd. An elegant black creatures with it tremendous claws shine as an adamantine. Lay down in laziness, her eyes which as pure as ruby look carefully on her prey. It’s the same prey. In silent she gets up and walks carefully toward that same-prey. Oh, what a stupid prey, she thinks. Fast, she stabs her claws on its neck. Make a big hole and suddenly a fresh fluid burst out from the neck and covers the floor. Stupid prey….

“MINI !”

A girl enters the room with panic. She holds that same-prey and at the same time looks at The Killer with anger.

“How many times I’ve told you! Don’t make the floor dirty, Mini!” She throws that same-yellow-prey to a bin next to her. “Now I have to clean this floor again. We don’t have that many mice here, okay? So please take care of toys I bought for you.”

After say that, that girl start to wipe the floor with tissue and leave the room with her ipod on to meet her boy friend on the other room.

Lying down, this ruby-eyed creature realized how this girl grew up and changes. Three meters from its place, this black figure can see how this girl kiss her boyfriend. And believe, it is not a little girl's kiss.. It is a woman's kiss

“A Black Cat Lady!”

A little girl shouted so hard

“Look at this cat! I want this cat! I’ll name it Black Cat Lady!”

With ridiculous smile and big eyes opened, that little girl holds a black cat tightly on her chest. Even though her mom refuses to adopt it, this little girl still holds the cat-almost killed it. But what can Mom do? With love to her daughter, now she is driving her car to a pet store and buy cat stuffs

Since then, that cat was called as “Lady” and become a main member of this house. Margareth-name of that little girl- will cry if Lady not sleeps beside her. Margareth will smile so bright even though she just fall down as long as Lady beside her. Every day Margareth broom its fur slowly liked broom a $10000 pet. In fact, it’s just a dirty cat from an unknown street. When Margareth there, Lady also there. Where Lady is, where Margareth is. Some people think maybe they should bring them to a hospital and see if they are siblings.

Funny isn’t it?

That was 5 years ago.
Now, she is no longer a girl with pink socks and polka dot dress. She is no longer a girl who hate boys as they are dirty part of this world that should be vanished. She is no longer a girl who like to cry a lot. Now, she loves a tiny square-shape white box that can play music which its long white rope can be put on ear to hear it privately. She loves slim box which shows you video from who she talks to. It’s a magic box. She can spend hours in front that magic box with her fingers do a tap dance on it. She loves a box which full of catalogs so she can choose which clothes are good, which hats are match with her bags, and many more. She loves boxes, isn’t she?

And now? Is Margareth still loves Black Cat Lady? Is Margareth still want to groom and sleep with Black Cat Lady? Is Margareth still cry if she can't find Black Cat Lady anywhere? Is Margareth still thinking that they are siblings before they reincarnation? Is Margareth...

3.00 p.m.

Three hours since she finds her last prey. She thinks about Margareth too much until falls asleep. Where is Margareth?

She looked around and still can not find her master. She go to kitchen. Maybe she is trying a new kind of diet again? No one in the kitchen. Ah, bathroom ! Maybe she is trying her new conditioner she bought yesterday. No? No one in the bathroom.

After one hour searching her master, (actually only 10 minutes with 40 minutes watch television and 10 minutes eat cat snacks in good apetite), she thinks again, where is Margareth?

Okay, now she is ready to search her master again. Now she tries to step on stairs. May be Margareth is on second floor. Little slip. And another slip. And another slip. Oh my ! They have to change this stairs ! Not from a marble! From rocks maybe !

After 20 steps full of danger (3 meters height), she find Margareth standing in front of her room with towel wrap her body. There is long white rope on her ears with tiny white box on her hands. Oh, I hope someone pull out that rope off her ears ! I can't imagine when that rope and her ears become one. As Black Cat Lady wishes, that rope is being pulled out off her ears. But now, that rope wrap her master's body almost too tight. Margareth shout and jump. But she can't. Someone hold her body so tight that she can't move her body. Her face shows panic.

"Hey, you shocked me!"

Margareth turn her body around and face this "criminal".

"You'll liked it."

He whispers to her ears and hug her.

Black Cat Lady looks at that guy. A nice guy. Good looking guy. His body is okay, not bad. It shows how many hours he spent on gym to carve his body. Okay, his body is also nice. He is her master's girlfriend. New one. The nicest one.

Suddenly Margareth kisses his lips and put her naked arm around his neck. This good looking guy holds her body tighter than before. He opens her lips a little bit and slip his tongue in. Slowly, he touches her back and pulled off her towel. He let it fall on the floor. He presses her naked body on the wall without loosen up his kiss a little bit. Yet, their kiss become more intense. He doesn't only kiss her lips, but also her neck, her ears, everywhere. They forgot that they are not alone in this house. There is a Lady near them. A Lady who still stand and watch them

She is no longer my little girl. She is my Margareth right now, not my little Margareth

Silently, Black Cat Lady step out and return to her beloved bed. Better not disturb them right now. What can I do? I just a cat, an old female cat. Black Cat lady lays on her bed. She close her eyes, waiting for another prey. Later when I found a prey, I'll stab my claws and tears it into pieces..

She falls asleep, dreaming she is in an island full of fat stupid prey. She stabs her claws and break them into pieces.

She smile

It help you better

How many of you have been spanked or shout by your parent when you are kid ? No need to answer. Me, myself, have been shout so many times when I was kid. Or how many of you find difficulties when you got divorce with your children in the middle of drama?

I think most of us don't like to be shout or spanked by their parent; And most of us don't like to stuck between partner like Hell and children through a divorce. Have you ever heard about parenting class? Years ago, this kind of classes were made to help parent educate and communicate with their children better, but later, this kind of class is used to help people run through a divorce. Sometimes, because of a divorce, relationship between our ex-partner, new spouse, or even children become worse. And still we are too shy to attend a parenting class. Did you know that parenting class has attorneys and counselors who will teach you communication skills that will help you have better relationship with new partner, spouse, and your children also?

This class is not bad at all. It will help us to maintain ourselves and our beloved family. Forget about "I don't have time". I think we have to "have time" about this one. Divorce is a sensitive issue for us, our partner, children, and family.

These recent days, I have an online bible friend via YM. He always give me at least 2 verses every morning. One from Old Testament and the other is from New Testament. And it always amazed me how those verses always connected each other. Example, the verses I got yesterday :

Isn't it interesting? though that books where made in different years (centuries I think), it still connected each other in unique way. My friend ever said, "Thanks God first when you wake up then read His word. Do that before you eat, before you take a bath, before you go out from your house! Because His word is a wisdom and a light unto our path." I believe that's true...

Valentine Day

So, here is a little section for Valentine Day... :D

I just went back home from a Valentine Party (from my church for university students). The theme was "When John meets Marry". Yeah, the speakers were John and Marry (they're couple with cute kids). I won't tell the whole story here. It's too long ! I just write things that I think most important.

1. Find A partner who has the same religion with you. So you can support each other in God. Not just the same religion, but also faith. Faith in everything...

2. Always pray to God about your partner (or whoever you think will be your partner). And don't think He always speak to you through big megaphone! God has His own unique way for each person in this world.He is the creator of all, and He know which way is more suitable for us...

3. Don't always think about private dating (just two of you alone). By being together alone with your partner, not guarantee that you will grow your relationship in right way. Maybe you discover something new about your partner.. But maybe that "new" things can lead you to wrong direction. The best deal is : If you two can grow up your relationship without (private)dating, that's what true love called is ! (Believe me, if your boyfriend/girlfriend acts too nice to you, almost completely different from his/her usual behaviour, you'll know it by see that "You-Start-Acting-Weird" word at her/his friend's face)

4. Some people think it's enough to just read bible at home or hear God's word from television or any other electronic device, or books. Ok, you can grow. But you grow weird. It's unhealthy.. really.. Reading bible by yourself, hear or read God's word by yourself, all by yourself. Wait a minute, You're not live alone in this world. Do you remember, when 2 or 3 people gather together and pray to God, God will be among them. Also, talk to someone via teleconference or video is not same with talk to someone face-to-face, right? So try to go to God's house, whatever your religion is. Gathering and have fellowship together with people in same faith is always nicer...
